GENERAL DESCRIPTION

Accommodation comprises two double cabins with private en suites, plus a companionway berth, and two single berths in the main cabin. The aft cabin is accessible both from the cockpit and through a passageway from the saloon. Both cabins have full headroom and good ventilation.  The main saloon is well-lit and ventilated, with a large plexiglass hatchway and many storm-proof windows.

Below there is a heap of storage space, all of it overfilled with all the bits and pieces which cruising yachts accumulate despite the most ruthless filtering. The cockpit has a strong dodger that can be lowered, as well as a removable canvas Bimini canopy.

Aft there is a sturdy davit structure that holds solar panels, wind generator and storm mooring lines. Self steering is by Aries wind vane or TMQ/Benmar autopilot.

Laurie Gubb did an extensive refit/rebuild in around 1997 (new galley, much timber deck work, water maker, full rewire,  solar panel/wind generator frame aft, etc)

REFITS

Since I bought her, Tainui has had 3 extensive refits:
