Papua New Guinea interlude

At 6 am, the best time of the day here in Milne Bay, I sit on the jetty and sip rich PNG coffee. Today we load the last of our medical supplies before setting off to Ilio Ilio. I hope we can stop at a manta colony en route.

Such a delight to be back in this chaotic country, free from the embarrassment of Australia’s refugee prisons. Tainui rests in Sydney and I have joined “Kula Spirit”, a medical outreach vessel visiting remote communities. More about this later. First though, a swim and some papaya.
