Hi John, By chance came across your travels in Afloat.. You will remember you bought Caroma from me in 82 or 83 and would be interested to know I bought her back in
January 91 and have had her ever since following many up-grades. We moved to Hobart in 2000 and retired and have ever since enjoyed sailing local waters. Over the years I have had bits of information, from people who know you. It would be nice to reconnect.

    Best Regards Roger.

Roger, it is great to hear from you. I have tried to contact you a number of times in recent years without success, but I have been following Caroma’s progress and have missed you at more than one wooden boat show. I have the fondest memories of Caroma – what a superb sailing boat the Carmen is! And yours is the best of them. If only she were 46 feet long. When I last went aboard Caroma I was astonished by how small she had become while I was growing older and my boats longer. I marvel that we got ourselves and all our cruising gear aboard for trips to Lord Howe and, later, to Tasmania with an 18 month old. I couldn’t do it now.

I will be down in Tasmania at the end of the year or in late January. We must get together then. Now that I have your email address I will forewarn you of my arrival.

      Cheers, mate
